Holiday Cards & Products that Make them Quick and Easy to Create

As we get closer to the New Year’s Eve Holiday, many people start comparing the goals that they had set versus the goals achieved. Craft Designer realized that one of the goals set for the first year was to include post about product reviews. Perhaps last year you set one of the following goals: better time management, connecting with people that you lost touch with, letting people know how much you care or that you have been thinking about them or spending time with friends and family members. Craft Designer realized meeting the goal of providing product reviews could help someone out there to achieve goals like the ones just described.

It is hard to image that there is a person out there who does not resolve to be more productive or to be better at time management. There are three products that Craft Designer tried this year and found them to be aligned with these goals. Two of them will be reviewed in this Holiday Card Project Idea posting--Smooch Spritz™ and Aleene’s® Acid Free Tacky Glue™ Glue Stick.

Smooch Spritz™ is a pearlized accent spray by Clearsnap. It can be used on a variety of surfaces such as paper, chipboard, wood and more. They come in glass bottles. The sprayer works well and allows control over how much is sprayed. Not only do they come in a variety of attractive colors, but also the color stays true. As you can see from the photo to the right, the color in the bottle accurately represents what appears on the paper. Additionally, the color does not change as the product dries on the surface. The three colors shown in the photo are cosmic pink, sun kissed and carrot cake.

For those perfectionists out there, and you know who you are, Aleene’s® Acid Free Tacky Glue™ Glue Stick helps you to maintain those standards. Not only is this product stronger than its competitors, but also provides a bit of wiggle room when assembling a card. Craft Designer tried it on a card that included a ribbon and it held the item in place. If you find that the item you just glued to the card isn't perfectly centered, you can adjust it without damaging the card.


Now for the Quick and Easy Holiday Card Idea. Using clear embossing powder, emboss a holiday themed stamped image, such as a tree onto glossy white cardstock. Then spray two different greens of Smooch Spritz™ over the image. Wipe away color from the image. Use a glue pad to stamp snowflake images and sprinkle with glitter. Use Aleene’s® Acid Free Tacky Glue™ Glue Stick to attach decorative panel to card base.
